Día de los Muertos originated in Mexico and Central America where indigenous groups commemorated their loved ones who had passed away. Día de los Muertos is often celebrated on November 2nd.
Today, Día de los Muertos is celebrated mostly in Mexico and some parts of Central and South America. It has become more popular with Latin communities and here in the United States. The holiday offers a chance to remember loved ones who have passed and celebrate their lives.
