In the Albuquerque Mommy’s Market children’s consignment sale for fall, you can’t consign the kids but you might pick up a bargain!  And we’re giving away FIFTEEN pairs of Mommy’s Market Presale Passes worth $10 each to ABQontheCheap readers, so you can shop early to nab the deals! See how to enter the giveaway below, through Wednesday September 25.

Change of season, change of clothes… but kids are changing all the time. (Did ya notice?)
The Albuquerque Mommy’s Market fall consignment sale on September 28 – 29, 2013 could be just the place to find gently-used kids’ clothing to children’s size 14, and save a few bucks on dressing the offspring both for the new season and their new size. Plus the sale includes maternity wear, children’s furniture, toys, and equipment for moms, kids and babies.

Judging by the guidelines for sellers, Mommy’s Market has pretty high standards and sale items must be in good shape and clean, so it shouldn’t be a game of ‘spot-the-rip’. Just a game of ‘grab the bargain’.  Clothing is organized by gender and size so you can zone in on what you’re looking for.

The Mommy’s Market fall sale is held at Berean Baptist Church, 3800 Eubank Boulevard NE, and admission costs:

  • $1 on Saturday September 28 from 9 am – 5 pm. Assuming you find even one thing to buy you’ll save that dollar many times over.
  • Admission is free on Sunday September 29, from 1 pm – 4 pm, when they clear many remaining items at half price.

There is also a Mommy’s Market presale on Friday September 27 from 7 pm – 9 pm.  No kids are allowed at the presale (although it’s fine to take infants under 9 months in slings) and tickets cost $10 on the door. UNLESS you enter our giveaway and maybe win yourself a pair of presale passes….

How to Win A Pair of Free Mommy’s Market Presale Passes

This Thrift Town Labor Day sale celebrates the Labor Day weekend with two days of different savings on September 1 and 2, 2013.

They’ll be working hard at Thrift Town over the holiday as the Thrift Town Labor Day sale offers:

  • 30% off everything on Sunday September 1
  • 50% off all clothing on Monday September 2

In addition to gently-used clothes for men, women, and kids, Thrift Town sells small appliances, kitchen wares, furniture and household items, music, jewelry, sports gear, and toys – so they would come under the ‘30% off everything’ Labor Day sale on Sunday! The store is quite a treasure trove of these and many other types of items, so what you find on any day will vary. (And that’s half the fun of shopping there.)

As with all Thrift Town sales, the Labor Day sale excludes gift cards and already-reduced Color Tag items, plus it also excludes Thrift Town logo gear. You also can’t use any coupons you’ve got stockpiled on the day of the sale.

Pick up a Thrift Town Super Shopper card while you’re in the store. You get a stamp for every $10 you spend, and once the card is full with 20 stamps, you earn $10 off your next $20+ purchase.

Also note that Seniors aged 60+ get 30% off clothing at Thrift Town every Monday.  You can’t combine the senior discount with any other promo.

Avocado Sale May 1 (Cheap Salmon too)

Comments Off on Avocado Sale May 1 (Cheap Salmon too)

Making guacamole for the Cinco de Mayo weekend? Here’s a one-day sale to save on avocados…

I could easily eat an avocado a day (they’re supposed to be healthy fat, right?) and a bowl of guacamole doesn’t last long in this house, between me and Mr Cheap battling it out with our tortilla chips. And did you know that if you put an avocado stone in water for a few days then plant it, it makes quite a pretty houseplant?

Anyhoo… as an avocado advocate, I was pleased to hear about this one-day Whole Foods Market sale on Wednesday May 1, 2013.

Avocados are on sale at 10 for $10, or $1 each, saving up to 67 cents on each avocado. It’s good timing for the Cinco de Mayo weekend if you choose avocados that are not too ripe already, although maybe they’re selling them off because they are ripe – so you’ll take your chances there. Oh dear, you’ll just have to eat them immediately 😉

I’d usually give you a sale web link but I got this info in an email from Whole Foods, so you’ll just have to take my word for it. The avocado sale is only on Wednesday May 1, 2013, while supplies last.

If you’re firing up the grill, I also notice in the Whole Foods sales flyer that Columbia River Whole Sockeye Salmon is on sale at $7.99 per pound (saving $4 a pound) from May 1 – 14.

You don’t need any coupons, just turn up at the participating Whole Food Market stores in Albuquerque:

  • Whole Foods Market Indian Plaza store at 2103 Carlisle Blvd. NE
  • Whole Foods Market Academy store at 5815 Wyoming Blvd NE
  • The sale is also on at the two Santa Fe Whole Foods stores if you’re heading thataway, at 753 Cerrillos Road, and 1090 S. Saint Francis Drive.

Comments Off on Mommy’s Market Consignment Sale & 50% Off Presale Pass

Albuquerque children’s consignment sale for spring– you can’t consign the kids, but you might pick up a bargain! Plus 50% off presale passes to shop before the show, available for a limited time…

Change of season, change of clothes… but kids are changing all the time. (Did ya notice?)
The Albuquerque Mommy’s Market  spring consignment sale on March 2-3, 2013 could be just the place to find gently used kids’ clothing and save a few bucks on dressing the offspring both for the new season and their new size. Plus the sale includes maternity wear, children’s furniture, toys, and equipment for moms, kids and babies.

Right now there’s a limited time deal for 50% off a presale ticket for $5 instead of the regular $10, to get early access to the bargains on Friday March 1 from 7 – 9 pm, before the main event opens. The offer is only via Living Social, not at the Mommy’s Market website, and it’s also available for the Santa Fe Mommy’s Market presale on March 22.

Otherwise, the Albuquerque Mommy’s Market  admission pricing is:

  • $1 on Saturday March 2 –  assuming you find even one thing to buy you’ll save that dollar many times over.
  • Admission is free on the morning of Sunday March 3, when they clear many remaining items at half price.

Judging by the guidelines for sellers, Mommy’s Market has pretty high standards and sale items must be in good shape and washed prior to the event, so it shouldn’t be a game of ‘spot-the-rip’. Just a game of ‘grab the bargain’.

The consignment sale is held at Berean Baptist Church, 3800 Eubank Boulevard NE.

If you want to sell children’s items yourself, the last day to sign up as a seller is February 22.

Beer Sale: October 31

Comments Off on Beer Sale: October 31

Just in time for Halloween…. Adults can have their own treats at 20% off.

Whole Foods Market has a one-day sale on beer and fruit and veggie trays on Wednesday October 31 only.  All beers are discounted by 20%, and small size fruit and vegetable trays are discounted by $3 to $9.99 each. I have to say that although fruit and veg trays are all very healthy and such, I was rather more excited about the beer sale. I’m going to stock up for Mr Cheap so we’ll save a little on his regular “guys nights”  when he and friends get together to play guitar. Oh and drink beer in between. Or maybe they get together to drink beer and they play guitar in between. Who knows?

The Whole Foods sale is ONLY on Wednesday October 31, 2012. I’d usually give you a sale web link but I got this info in an email from Whole Foods, so you’ll just have to take my word for it.

Oh, and a heads-up if you’re shopping for salmon this week. You might want to wait till Friday November 2, when “Responsibly Farmed” Atlantic salmon will be on sale for $8.99 per pound at Whole Foods Market stores.

For either sale, you don’t need any coupons, just turn up at the participating Whole Food Market stores in Albuquerque:
