New Mexico golf courses are beautiful to play, especially when you’re saving dollars on green fees!  New Mexico residents can get a great deal on New Mexico golf that works out to just $25 per round including top notch courses like Paa-Ko Ridge, Twin Warriors, and UNM Championship. The offer is only for New Mexico residents.

This twilight golf pass gives a discount on Golf on the Santa Fe Trail courses, letting you play all eight for just $200. That’s 25 bucks per round, a very low par for these courses, saving over $150.

Twilight hours start at 2 pm, allowing plenty of time for a relaxed game, and the pass can be used Monday to Thursday. The pass is valid for one year from purchase date, to play all the Santa Fe Trail golf courses once each – see the trail map at the link. Six are around Albuquerque, the other two are north of Santa Fe:

  • Paa-Ko Ridge
  • Twin Warriors
  • Sandia
  • UNM Championship
  • Santa Ana
  • Isleta Eagle
  • Black Mesa
  • Towa

They say pass numbers are limited, although some form of this pass deal has been ongoing for a while now.  Still, golfers who want to try all these excellent area courses will stumble on their soft spikes to snap this one up.

To summarize the very fair deal conditions for the discounted Golf on the Santa Fe Trail pass:

  • You must be a New Mexico resident and can play each course only once
  • The pass can be used Monday to Thursday for tee times starting from 2 pm
  • Book tee times up to seven days in advance, for groups of no more than four players
  • The pass is good for a year from date of purchase

If you don’t play yourself, this could make a good gift for the golfer in your life. Buy the discount golf pass online.

If you’re not a New Mexico resident or if you’re taking an out-of-state guest, regular green fees are still very competitive (especially compared to other national courses of similar quality) at all the Golf on the Santa Fe Trail courses.

Ten Thousand Waves spa in Santa Fe special offers for November and December 2011 include half price second night lodging for a pamper-me break away from home, a spa and hot tub package, and free bath pass with purchases. Regular admission is good value too, with a discount card for New Mexico residents.

Ten Thousand Waves Lodging Special through December 15.  Get 50% off the second night’s stay when you book two Waves of Bliss packages. These are 4 1/2 hour spa packages, including massage, facial, and more, priced $369.  The second night at 50% off lodging deal requires at least one of the night’s accommodation to be on Sunday to Thursday nights, and the offer isn’t valid on November 24.

Ten Thousand Waves Shop & Soak Deal Through December 15 spend $100 on retail goods in the Ten Thousand Waves store (not hard to do, I love their lotions, soaps, and at at-home-spa products, and they have great gift items) and for each $100 you get a free pass to the communal or women’s bath. The free soak pass can be used until March 11, 2012, but note some blackout dates over Christmas in the fine print.

Ten Thousand Waves Spa package:  Through December 15, get the Relax & Restore spa special for $259, saving around $58 on the individual treatments. The spa package includes a private hot tub, an 80-minute facial, and an 80-minute massage. You need the Ten Thousand Waves coupon to get the discount spa package, either print it or show it on a handheld device, and then book in advance for any day through December 15, 2012. Visitors staying at Ten Thousand Waves lodging don’t need to take the coupon.

Even if you can’t splash out on these treats, regular admission to soak in the hot tubs and enjoy the sun decks, saunas, and lovely views is pretty affordable.

  • $23.45 admission to the mixed or women-only communal hot tubs, stay as long as you like, and they provide a comfy kimono, sandals, and towels, and well-equipped changing rooms with toiletries and lockers.
  • Hot Tub punch card $169 covers you for 10 visits from Monday to Thursday (saving over $65) and you’re welcome to take a guest – two people can visit at a time using the punch card.
  • The Waribiki Rewards Club Card for New Mexico Residents gives you a 20% discount on private baths, massage, and spa treatments on Monday to Thursday. You cannot use the card on the day you receive it, but if you’re at Ten Thousand Waves anyway, you might as well pick one up for future visits. Take your NM ID.
  • Taking the kids? Children 4 feet tall or under soak for half price.
  • Taking friends? A group of four people or more receive a 10% group discount on admission to any bath.

NM Museum of Natural History & Science Free NM Residents: Nov 6

Free admission days for New Mexico residents at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science? We like that!

New Mexico residents get in free to The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science on the first Sunday of every month.   That means the next free admission day is this Sunday November 6, 2011.

Hurrah! That saves $7 per adult (aged 13-59) and $4 for kids (aged 3-12) on the usual ticket price.

To get free admission on the first Sunday of the month, take your New Mexico ID. Even with the freebie, you have to pay regular admission if you want to go in to the Lockheed Martin DynaTheater or the Planetarium.

The remaining free dates through 2011 are:

  • November 6
  • December 4

New Mexico resident seniors age 60+ also continue to get free admission every Wednesday to the NM Museum of Natural History and Science. And on Veteran’s Day November 11, veterans with ID also receive free admission.

The First Sunday free admission program also extends to the Sandia Mountain Natural History Center .  The Sandia Mountain Natural History Center isn’t usually open to the public, but the walking trails and environmental education center located on 128 acres in the Sandia Mountains are now open on the first Sunday of the month, weather permitting, and New Mexico residents get in free with ID.

The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science free first Sunday deal takes over from the old system of free admission for residents of specific New Mexico counties in different months each year. While the old system was a good idea in theory, in practice I always found it kinda tricky to track who could get in free when…. so now it’s much simpler to remember!

New Mexico Museum of Natural and Science is located in Albuquerque Old Town at 1801 Mountain Road NW.
