Comments Off on Holiday Ole & BOGO Free Ticket Deal
Every year, the Junior League of Albuquerque hosts the Holiday Olé festive shopping extravaganza. The good news is: you can get
two Holiday Ole tickets for the price of one at the link if you purchase tickets in a limited time deal. The better news: proceeds benefit local charities.
I was just about to write a post about the 2012 Junior League of Albuquerque Holiday Olé on Sunday November 18, when I spotted this two Holiday Ole ticket deal – oh serendipity! Especially as the regular ticket price has increased this year to $10 each so the Living Social offer to get two tickets for the price of one is a no-brainer at $10 for two tickets or $20 for four tickets.
More than four people going holiday shopping? It’s fine to buy multiple sets of tickets, although of course that works better if you have an even number in your party, as the half price tickets are sold in pairs.
Holiday Ole is on Sunday, November 18 at Hotel Albuquerque, and usually features all kinds of artsy craftsy stuff, toys, jewelry, cosmetics, and other gifts and Christmas stocking stuffers from Albuquerque retailers. Shop Olé runs from 11 am to 4 pm, and Bebe Olé is from 2 pm to 5 pm, with Santa Claus and holiday activities.
Regular priced tickets are $10 if you miss the current BOGO free ticket deal, and tots under age 2 go free.
Holiday Ole will also hold a brunch with a guest panel at 10 am, and tickets for that (available from the Junior League of Albuquerque website) cost $50, which includes admission to shopping and Santa too, and brunch tix must be purchased in advance as none will be available at the door. No deals on brunch – sorry!
Junior League of Albuquerque Holiday Olé 2012 will be held:
- When: Sunday November 18
- Time: Shopping from 11 am to 4 pm, and Bebe Olé with Santa from 2 pm to 5 pm.
- Where: Hotel Albuquerque
- Price: $10 regular admission, or nab the limited time Living Social Deal for 2 tickets for $10 or 4 tickets for $20. Free admission for kids aged under 2.
Hotel Albuquerque is located just north of Old Town at 800 Rio Grande Boulevard NW
–Tania FYI: I’ve given my Living Social affiliate link.
Comments Off on 15% Off Promo Code for 6 New Mexico Hotels
Use the promo code to get 15% off room rates at all six Heritage Hotels & Resorts properties in New Mexico.
The discount deal at Heritage Hotels & Resorts saves you 15% off the best rates for their six New Mexico hotels when you use the promo code: ADVENTURE
The hotels are:
- Hotel Albuquerque near Albuquerque Old Town. I’ve stayed here for conferences and also research purposes when writing travel articles, and the decor and hotel is very attractive and comfy, with super-helpful staff.
- Nativo Lodge in Albuquerque Locals will recognize the Nativo Lodge from the colorful patterns on the exterior, you can see it from I-25 near the San Mateo intersection. The rooms are decked out with Native American style furnishings, and I can tell you from experience that the beds are rather plush 😉
- The Lodge at Santa Fe featuring handcrafted furnishings and original artwork, free wi-fi, a bar and lounge, and an outdoor pool and hot tub. It’s a five minute drive to Santa Fe Plaza.
- Hotel St. Francis in Santa Fe is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, just a short block from the Plaza. (And right opposite one of my fave Santa Fe restaurants, Cafe Pasqual’s.) I’ve nosed around since they gave the hotel its elegant make-over and think they’ve done a lovely job. I haven’t stayed there, but I’ve often enjoyed the atmosphere in the bar.
- Hotel Chimayo de Santa Fe which used to be the Hotel Plaza Real. I haven’t stayed in the new incarnation of the hotel, but I did stay when it was the Hotel Plaza Real, and you can’t beat the location, just off Santa Fe Plaza. I also like the bar and patio – a very good spot for people-watching.
- Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces in (as you would guess) Las Cruces. Anyone been there? Let us know in the comment box below. It’s on my list of places to try out!
Links to all the New Mexico Heritage Hotels & Resorts are at their website, where you can plug in the promo code ADVENTURE to see room rates after the 15% discount is applied.
Info on the promo arrived via email, and I don’t know how long the promo code is valid for, or how far ahead you can book and still get the discount. However, I did a test run for various dates through November, including during Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta in October, and the discount appeared just fine! Some blackout dates may apply.
If you go, also check out the hotel coupons for dining discounts and freebies at each of these New Mexico properties.

Comments Off on Native Heritage Art Market on Thanksgiving Weekend
The first Native Heritage Art Market debuts this Thanksgiving weekend in Albuquerque, and what a debut!
The Native Heritage Art Market runs from November 25-27 at Hotel Albuquerque, and admission is free for all. In addition to work for sale from more than 15 different tribes, such as jewelry, pottery, carvings, paintings and sculpture, the event also includes artist demonstrations, and traditional music and cultural performances.
The Opening Reception at 5 pm on Friday November 25 look well worth a visit, as it pays tribute to Indian Arts and Crafts Association Artists of the Year over the last 30 years, many of whom will be present. Ceremonies start with an invocation by Haywood Big Day, Sundance Leader for the Crow Tribe, and the whole event is MC’d by the wonderful Harlan McKosato, host of Native America Calling. How cool is that?
I often listen to Native America Calling on KUNM, and I LOVE it!
Other highlights over the weekend include:
- Turquoise Workshop at 10 am on November 26 by Joe P. Lowry, owner of the Turquoise Museum
- Jerry Pardilla, Penobscot singer & flute player, at 12 noon on November 26
- Plus talks/demonstrations on Navajo silver jewelry and sandpainting, Laguna Pueblo pottery, Zuni Pueblo weaving, Taos Pueblo pottery, Santo Domingo Pueblo Heishi-making, Hopi basket weaving, and more…
See the full Native Heritage Art Market schedule for details on what’s happening when. I’m not sure how you’re supposed to pick your fave time to go, though. It all looks pretty great to me. And to get us in the festive spirit, they’ll have a tree with Native-made holiday ornaments.
As the event is organized by the Indian Arts and Crafts Association we can be confident that the arts for sale are all certified as genuine work from American Indian artists.
Native Heritage Art Market takes place:
- When: November 25-27, 2011
Friday November 25 from 3 – 7 pm, with the opening reception at 5 pm
Saturday November 26 from 10 am – 5 pm
Sunday November 27 from 10 am – 2 pm
- Where: Hotel Albuquerque
- Price: Admission is free!
I can’t be responsible for how much you spend on holiday shopping, though!
Hotel Albuquerque is located just north of Old Town at 800 Rio Grande Boulevard NW.
Comments Off on Holiday Ole & BOGO Free Ticket Deal
Every year, the Junior League of Albuquerque hosts the shopping extravaganza that is Holiday Olé. The good news is: you can get
two Holiday Ole tickets for the price of one if you purchase tickets in a limited time deal through Tuesday November 15. The better news: proceeds benefit local charities.
I was just about to write a post about the 2011 Junior League of Albuquerque Holiday Olé this Sunday November 20, when I spotted this two Holiday Ole tickets for $5 deal – oh serendipity! More than two people going holiday shopping? It’s fine to buy multiple deals, although of course that works better if you have an even number in your party, as the BOGO deal tickets are sold in pairs.
