We all love our homes. But that doesn’t stop us wanting to rip down walls, redesign our kitchens, overhaul the bathroom, and install spas. Yes, remodeling is America’s obsession.

If you want to get some new ideas to give your own home a facelift, the Albuquerque Home and Remodeling Show is this weekend, January 17 and 18, 2015.

I’ve never been to this show so I don’t know what to expect of it, but I DO know that you can get in free if you go in the first hour each day. Visit the Albuquerque Home and Remodeling Show between 10 am and 11 am each day and admission is free.

After 11 am adult admission is $5. Kids aged under 12 get in free at all times. (Well, the poor little darlings have to get in free, don’t they? I’ve never known a child who actively enjoys going to home shows.)

The list of exhibitors includes all the things you’d expect to see at a home and remodeling show: bathrooms, kitchens,  sunrooms, landscaping, hot tubs and spas, windows and window coverings, floor coverings, home furnishings, and a lot more. You can talk with builders and contractors and find out about green and solar technologies too. It all happens at Expo New Mexico.

The January 2015 Albuquerque Home and Remodeling Shows runs on:

  • Saturday January 17 from 10 am to 5 pm
  • Sunday January 18 from 10 am to 4 pm
  • Admission is free before 11 am on both days

The Albuquerque Home and Remodeling Show is held in the Manuel Lujan Buildings at EXPO New Mexico, home of the New Mexico State Fairgrounds. If you drive there, the parking fee is $5.

Get $1 televisions in a one-day sale, and thanks to Dona at Habitat for Humanity for letting us know about this deal at ReStore!

If you’re looking for a cheap television or an extra TV for a spare room, kitchen or bedroom, or just to stop squabbles over who gets to choose the show tonight… this one-day sale on January 28 could solve your problem.

The Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity ReStore has over 100 TVs that they’re selling off for $1 each – but the sale is only on Saturday January 28, 2012.

Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity ReStore sells new and used building materials, home decor and furniture, from windows and cabinets to appliances in good working condition. The money raised at the store goes back into Habitat for Humanity projects. I’m a big fan of their work, especially after attending the ribbon-cutting of a new home and seeing how chuffed the family and volunteers were to swing open that new front door!

The $1 TV sale is only on January 28, and opening hours are 9 am – 5 pm on Tuesdays through Saturday.

The Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity ReStore is located at 200 San Mateo SE.

We’re in love with our houses. But that doesn’t mean we don’t want to rip down walls, repaint, install bathroom spas, and overhaul our kitchens. Yes, remodeling is America’s obsession.

That’s why the Home Builders and Remodelers Showcase at EXPO New Mexico is the largest home show in New Mexico and one of the biggest such events in the entire southwest. Hundreds of exhibitors will be showing off the latest products and technologies for home building, remodeling, design, and decorating. Admission is $5 for adults, but we found a buy-one-get-one-free coupon. Kids 12 and under get in free!

The Home Builders and Remodelers Showcase takes place Saturday, March 28, from 10:00am to 6:00pm and Sunday, March 29, from 10:00am to 5:00pm at EXPO New Mexico (formerly the state fairgrounds). We’re guessing it’s in the Manuel Lujan Building, though the website doesn’t specify. Also note that a parking fee may apply.
