30% off Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic: Give & Get Weekend

August 24, 2010 by Tania

Save 30% in stores August 26-29, 2010 AND support Feeding America, Big Brothers Big Sisters, or other other charities in the program. Here’s how…

In this Give and Get weekend promotion on August 26 – 29 2010,  customers using the coupon save 30% at Old Navy, Gap, and Banana Republic stores, and the stores donate 5% of whatever you spend to Feeding America, Big Brothers Big Sisters, or other good causes in the program – you choose! You need the coupon to take to the stores, and you can use it as often as you like over four days of the promotion.

The coupon is good in stores only, at Old Navy, Gap, Gap Outlet, Banana Republic, and Banana Republic Factory Stores. It’s not valid for online purchases.

That’s my favorite kind of deal – substantial savings and you help others at the same time! If you can’t decide which coupon to use, find out more about Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central New Mexico, Feeding Americathe  Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the World Wildlife Fund, The Global Fund, and Teach for America.

Know of any other charities in the fundraising Gap Give and Get program? Let us know and we’ll add them to the list!

*  *  *

If you must buy online, both the Old Navy and Banana Republic websites are running 25% off deals until August 25, but these are not related to Give and Get weekend – no money goes to charity.

25% off Old Navy online, no minimum purchase, with the promo code: ONSAVE25

25% off Banana Republic online when you spend $100, with the promo code: BRSAVE25

Thanks to our friends at Miami on the Cheap for helping us add to the list of charities in the Give and Get program!

Gap Half Price: $25 for $50 of Clothing Limited Time Deal

August 19, 2010 by Tania
Filed under Half Off Deals, Shopping

Gap clothing and accessories at half price? What’s not to love? Get $50 worth of Gap gear for $25 for all store purchases. For extra savings, the offer is good on sale items too. Deal details are simple, but you need to act fast.

Buy the Gap $25 for $50 worth certificate from Groupon before midnight tonight, August 19, 2010, and then redeem it for $50 worth of Gap apparel by November 19, 2010.  It’s good on all apparel and accessories, including sale items, at all store locations. That includes men’s and women’s Gap, babyGap, GapKids, and GapBody.

Is there anyone who doesn’t have something from Gap in their closet? My faves are the fleeces and comfy stuff, but people who don’t work from a home office and who actually have to LOOK respectable to their colleagues opt for the slightly smarter gear! Of course, you can also spend it on jeans. Kinda can’t go wrong there.

The Gap $25 for $50 worth deal would make a good gift, if you don’t want it for yourself. They’re only allowing one certificate per person, so use it wisely, Grasshopper!

The certificate is valid in stores only, at all national locations. You can’t use it for Gap Outlet, Factory, or Generation, or for gift cards. Tax is not included and you can’t combine it with other offers. Apart from that, I can’t see any major exclusions, but check out all deal details at the link.

They need a minimum of 75 people to buy the Gap Groupon Deal to make it fly, otherwise your credit card won’t be charged. But I doubt there’ll be a problem persuading 75 people to save 50% on Gap clothes and I reckon this deal will rocket.  I’m buying mine! Mr Cheap will have to fight me for it. (Or buy his own.)

Albuquerque Gap stores are at:

  • Coronado Center
  • Cottonwood Mall

Cliff’s Amusement Park Half Price Deal Today Only

July 27, 2010 by Tania
Filed under Attractions, Half Off Deals, Kids

UPDATE: The Cliff’s Amusement Park 50% coupon referenced in this July post is no longer valid, and coupon links are removed. Check back next season!

Two ways to save at Uncle Cliff’s: $24 for two ride passes for unlimited rides all day if you buy today Tuesday (worth up to $49.90) OR an ongoing 50% off coupon for a Cliff’s ride pass. Read on to decide which is better value for you. Either way, you’re saving big! But the $24 offer is only available if you purchase today, then use the ride passes when you wish through the 2010 season.

Cliff’s Amusement Park deals are amongst the most popular at ABQ on the Cheap – everyone wants to save on one of Albuquerque’s favorite attractions.

So when we spotted this Groupon deal available to buy only on Tuesday July 27, we wanted to let you know about it:

This is a terrific deal, and we don’t see any restrictions on which day of the week you can use it.

Thrill-seekers also have the option of the ongoing 50% off Cliff’s Ride Pass Coupon that we’ve posted about before.

  • It’s the same ride pass as the Groupon deal and also gives unlimited rides all day.
  • But the 50% off Cliff’s coupon is only good on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday – it’s NOT valid on Saturday.
  • The offer comes courtesy of KOAT-TV, 100.3 The Peak, and Lite 95.1.

So how to choose which Cliff’s discount deal to opt for?

If you want to visit Cliff’s Amusement Park on a SATURDAY – the Groupon deal looks your best bet.
And note that from mid-August, Cliff’s opening days change and it’s mainly only open on Saturday and Sunday.

Flexible on the day you visit? The ongoing 50% Off Cliff’s coupon might be better if you have have smaller people (ie kids) with you, due to Cliff’s ride pass pricing by height:

  • If you’re over 48” tall, regular Ride Pass = $24.95. So with the 50% off coupon you pay approx $12.50 each (The Groupon deal is definitely better value here, if you have two of you over 48″ tall)
  • If you’re under 48” tall: regular Ride Pass = $19.95. So with the 50% off coupon you pay approx $10
  • If you’re aged 2 and under: regular Ride Pass = $17.45 (and if you’re aged under 2 and you’re reading this, you must be a child prodigy.) So with the 50% off coupon you pay just under $9.

I now have a big old headache doing the math, but I hope that helps you choose the best deal. Any way you pay it these are both excellent ways to save money at Cliff’s, but if you want the Groupon Cliff’s Amusement Park deal, buy it before midnight tonight!

A minimum of 25 people have to sign up for it before the deal is guaranteed, but that’s unlikely to be a problem, bearing in mind the popularity of Uncle Cliff’s.

Note that the Cliff’s discount coupon is good on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, but you can’t use it on Saturday.

It’s worth printing several of the coupons-stroke-flyers, since the promotion appears to be valid all season long. If you use this half-off coupon every time you go, you can afford twice as much Cliff’s this summer.

The 50% off Cliff’s coupon is good for one ride pass and saves you up to around $12 (depending on height).

Let’s have a scream-fest in their honor, for making summer fun easier (and cheaper) in Albuquerque! It’s half-price fun for kids and all the family.

The Minneapolis-based quartet The Jinnies performs on Friday, February 5th at 7:30 pm at the KiMo Theatre.  I just listened to some of their music and it’s great – folk/rock with a soulful jazz and blue note, and gorgeous vocals. Fab fiddle too. Don’t believe me? Listen to the free cdbaby excerpt of the song Bloody Heart from The Jinnies’ CD Traveling Roots to get a taste of what to look forward to. (Or any of the tracks, but I especially fell in love with that one!)

Band line-up is Martha Alvarado on vocals and guitar, CJ Mulder on vocals and guitar, Jess Crary on vocals and violin, and Scott Yonke on bass guitar.

Want to hear The Jinnies play live on Friday February 5? Regular priced tickets cost $17 or $20, but thanks to the KiMo Theatre, ABQ on the Cheap readers can get two tickets for the price of one. (Or buy one get one free. Or half-priced tickets for two – however you sing it, it’s a great deal.)
