Albuquerque restaurant Halloween treats without tricks, including kids eat free, Halloween weekend specials, and more for the week ahead. We’re still following up some Halloween deals – so check back later for updates!

Free IHOP Scary Face Pancake for kids today, Friday October 28. It’s one free pancake per child aged 12 and under at participating locations till 10 pm.

Souper Salad Free Kid’s Buffet when you dine in and buy an adult entree, today through November 1, using the coupon at participating locations.

Boston Market Free Kid’s Meal when you buy an adult meal (looks like minimum purchase must be $10) from October 29 – 31, using the coupon at participating restaurants. There’s also a Boston Market $2 off coupon valid on a $10 purchase to November 6.

Word on the grapevine is that Kids Eat Free at Souplantation & Sweet Tomatoes when they visit in costume between October 29-31. The freebie is for children under 12, with one kid freebie per purchase of an adult meal.

TGI Friday’s Halloween free appetizer when you go in Halloween costume this weekend through October 31. The free appetizer choice is fried mozzarrella, pot stickers, or crispy green bean fries, at participating locations. Haven’t had chance to call the ABQ TGI Friday’s to see if it’s on board, but they did participate last year.

TGI Friday’s BOGO Free Coupon to get a free entree when you buy one entree and two beverages for dine-in through November 1. It’s one coupon per table, per visit, at participating locations, and check the fine print for some exclusions on promo menus.

You *might* get a freebie at Old Town Pizza Parlor, if you eat fast! For their Halloween Ghost Chile Challenge, customers who order a sausage, cheese, and chile-smothered 10″ pizza (read hot) and eat it ALL up in 20 minutes, get the pizza free! Plus a $20 gift card. Personally I’d rather take my time to enjoy it and just pay for the pizza, but if you’re a fast eater anyway…. the Old Town Pizza Parlor offer runs through November 6.

PF Chang’s 20% Off Online Orders using the promo code: TREAT from tomorrow, October 29 to October 31. They announced the Halloweed deal on their Facebook page, but you don’t need to be a Facebook member to use the PF Chang’s promo code!

El Pinto Free Guacamole Appetizer on November 1, all day, with the purchase of an entree and when you ask for the “Best of the City guacamole please” at El Pinto, 10500 4th Street.

Pizzeria Espiritu in Santa Fe Half Price Pay $19 for a pizza meal for two with one salad, one pizza, and two beers, valued at about $38.  The Groupon offer is available today, although they’re not clear on expiration date to use the certificate.

Albuquerque Downtown Growers Market Dog Boo on October 29 with judging at 10:30 am, and it’s free to watch and to enter your dog in costume for the contest, with prizes from Tail Waggin Treats. You need to register a dog at the Tail Waggin Treats booth. They’re also giving away some pumpkins to carve at the market. Although the market was due to close on October 29, word is that they’re staying open another week till November 5, at Robinson Park, 801 Central Avenue NW.

Napoli Coffee $2 Off a $9 purchase with the coupon courtesy of QponABQ, valid until October 31.

Mimi’s Cafe 20% Off Your Check using the coupon on a purchase of minimum $20 dollars. The offer doesn’t apply to alcohol, nor tax and tip, and you can’t use it for gift cards and some promo menu items, otherwise it’s good till November 3.

PF Chang’s Wine Deal Get a third off a bottle of wine all day on Mondays and Tuesdays through the month of November 2011. That’s a third off any bottle of wine! As the cost of vino is always a large part of the check when I dine out with Mr Cheap (because Darling, I hardly eat a thing) I think I’ll be timing a trip there for the wine offer nights!

These Heritage Hotel coupons for their restaurants are all valid to December 30, 2011, so we have plenty of time to take advantage of them, including:

Waffle House Free Waffle using the coupon for dine-in only, until November 11, 2011.

Free Chili’s Appetizer when you join Chili’s email club. They send offers to email subscribers, and when you sign up (via MySavings) you can print out a coupon for a free Skillet Queso & Chips with the purchase of an entree.

80% off Restaurant.com already discounted dining certificates when you enter the promo code PUMPKIN at checkout through October 31. Restaurant.com certificates are already discounted, so prices with the extra 80% off promo code:

  • $25 certificate (usually $10 or $15) now costs $2 or $3
  • $50 certificate (usually $20) now costs $4
  • $100 certificate (usually $40) now costs $8
  • Buy at Restaurant.com through October 31, using promo code PUMPKIN at checkout.
  • No expiration date on certificates, and no shipping fees for email certificates.
  • Check individual restaurants for deal terms (eg minimum spend) to make sure they’re a good deal for you, and some certificate prices may vary from the typical examples above.

Bailey’s on the Beach Yoga Deal It’s the last few days to spend $20 at Bailey’s on the Beach and get a voucher for a free yoga session at Hot Yoga Downtown. Eat first, work it off later. I like that! Offer good to the end of October.

Cheap Chicken: How does 5 pieces of chicken, 2 sides, and 2 biscuits sound? How about for only $6.99? Use the Popeyes Chicken Coupon for the San Mateo location, or the Popeyes Coupon for the Coors location. Both are good to December 31, 2011. Or find Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen coupons for another location. It does bother me that they don’t put an apostrophe in *Popeye’s* but it’s a good deal so I’ll forgive them.

Taco Bell Free Chicken Flatbread Sandwich Combo when you buy a $20 gift card.  Plan ahead for holiday gifts and get a freebie!

Landry’s Seafood Free Appetizer with the purchase of two entrees, using the coupon through December 31, 2011. The coupon (scroll down at the link) is good for a free app up to $9.99 and is ONLY valid at the Albuquerque Landry’s Seafood, 5001 Jefferson NE.

Get a free $25 dining certificate with the Entertainment Book and free shipping for the new 2012 edition (you can use the 2012 coupons now). The Albuquerque/Santa Fe Entertainment Book includes restaurant and shopping coupons and deals at attractions, including discounts, 2-for-1 deals, freebies with purchase, etc. The $40 book (for ABQ, many other city books cost $35) claims to offer over $92,000 in local savings, including 275 restaurant coupons.

Jack in the Box $1 Off an Outlaw Burger or a Spicy Chicken Sandwich with the coupon, valid to December 25, 2011. That would be Christmas.

Pizza Nine Coupons include:

  • Free 2 liter soda with a medium or large pizza purchase
  • Free dessert with a medium or large pizza purchase
  • $5 off any $20 purchase
  • Free medium pizza when you buy a large specialty pizza (only for carry-out orders)

NOTE: Not all locations may be participating in all offers – call ahead if you want to be sure

–Tania  FYI – I’ve given my Groupon, MySavings, Entertainment Book, and Restaurant.com affiliate links on those specific deals. If you feel like sending a little love this way to help support ABQ on the Cheap (it doesn’t cost you anything), please use the links. Thanks!

Live entertainment, cooking classes, lavender crafts and activities, wine tour and tastings, and plenty for the kids to do at this sweet summer festival on Saturday and Sunday June 26 and 27, 2010.

It’ll be a fragrant weekend at the 7th annual Lavender in the Village Festival in Los Ranchos, with family fun including:

  • Lavender crafts and activities
  • Cooking with lavender classes
  • Live music including Kim & The Caballeros, Los Amigos, Muddy River String Band
  • Kids’ activities including face painting and a petting zoo

  • Wine tasting and tours of Casa Rondeña Winery
  • Author events
  • Eco-education workshops
  • Family Fun Run/Walk on Saturday at 8 am (fee required to participate)
  • And of course, lots of lavender goodies to buy!

There’s far too much going on to mention it all here, so check out the Lavender in the Village Festival schedule.

The admission fees are a sweet deal too – $3 for adults, $2 for kids, and admission is free for children under age 10. (Cash only for admission.)

Admission includes activities at all locations (except participation in the fun run and pet parade, and tickets for the Friday night Barn Dance and Dinner.) It’s always free of course to visit the Los Ranchos Growers’ Market.

The map of the festival locations in the Village of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque also shows where you can pick up the shuttle to take you between the events – in case all that soothing lavender makes you too relaxed to walk or drive!

Comments Off on Charity Raffle & Adoption Event for NM Animal Friends

If you’re a born multi-tasker, here’s a great event!

This Saturday, August 29 (2009), from 7:00 – 11:00am, head over to the Los Ranchos Arts & Crafts Market, where you can:

  • Shop for great handcrafted pottery, windchimes, jewelry, and much more
  • Adopt a loving pet
  • Buy a raffle ticket for just 50¢ for your chance to win one of several great, handcrafted prizes and support a non-profit, no-kill animal protection organization
  • Purchase a balloon for $2 to benefit NMAF and the market

What could be better?

New Mexico Animal Friends also will be hosting a pet adoption/fostering event, so if you could use a new buddy around the house — or you’re willing to take in a foster pet — stop by to meet your new best friend!

Proceeds from the raffle and balloon sales will be split 50/50 between NMAF and the Los Ranchos Arts & Crafts Market.

Oh, and, by the way: while you’re there, take 10 paces to the left to shop the Los Ranchos Growers’ Market for locally produced, largely organic vegetables, preserves, honey, cheese, flowers, and much more! Be sure to get there early for best selection.

The Los Ranchos Arts & Crafts Market is located 6718 Rio Grande Blvd NW, just north of Chavez Rd, Albuquerque.

(Full disclosure: ABQ on the Cheap is a media sponsor of the Los Ranchos Arts & Crafts Market.)

On the growers’ market side, you may find blackberries, sugar snap peas, spinach, chard, kale, micro greens, cabbage, radishes, young summer squash, farm fresh eggs, potted herbs, organic jams — and many other tasty treats! And don’t forget the arts and crafts market, where you’ll find:
