• Buca di Beppo is going for the record for the world’s largest bowl of pasta, and to celebrate their claim on carbohydrate fame, are giving away free spaghetti on Monday, March 15, 2010.  Purchase a Buca Small or a Buca Large pasta or entree, and get a portion of free spaghetti with your choice of meat sauce or marinara sauce. Valid for dine-in customers only (although you can box it up and take it home).
• Get a free medium order of Tots with the purchase of any SuperSonic Cheeseburger – this is a limited time Sonic deal, but they don’t say how limited…

The folk at University of Wisconsin Press are offering a free download of Human Goodness by Yi-Fu Tuan, list price $24.95, until March 13, in celebration of Read an E-book Week.

Bookworms, philosophers, and probably anyone human (we *think* that just about covers all the ABQ on the Cheap readers…) will be interested in reading a free copy of Yi-Fu Tuan’s book Human Goodness, which asks: What does it mean to be good? Drawing from the lives of people as diverse as Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, John Keats, and Wolfgang Mozart, the author explores the nature of goodness. Well, we think that the University of Wisconsin Press is very, very good!

Free IHOP Short Stack on National Pancake Day Feb 23

Slurp up a free short stack of pancakes at IHOP on Tuesday February 23 – just consider making a donation to support local children’s hospitals.

What’s with all the free food today? After your free sandwich at Jack in the Box (as posted yesterday) you can trundle over to IHOP on Tuesday February 23, 2010, between 7am and 10pm, to claim a free short stack of three buttermilk pancakes. In exchange, consider making a donation to Children’s Miracle Network to support children’s hospitals, or other local charities.

IHOP’s National Pancake Day celebration has raised over $3.25 million for charity since it started in 2006. It’s usually held on Shrove Tuesday, but they’ve changed the date this year. Limited to one free short stack per person, at participating restaurants for dine-in only.

If you don’t enjoy free chow today, cheapos, then you’re just not trying very hard!
