Free Films: NM Filmmakers Showcase
Maybe it’s our attention span, but we like things short: short stories, short films, whatever.
So, we’re psyched about four days of short films to be screened at the New Mexico Filmmakers Showcase. And they’re all FREE to attend!
This 30-hour extravaganza of films will be held Thursday, May 14 (2009) through Sunday, May 17, at the Guild Cinema. Thursday’s screenings begin at 7:00pm; Friday’s begin at 6:00pm; Saturday and Sunday, the fun starts at 11:30am.
To say the selection of films will be “diverse” would be trite. These films by New Mexico filmmakers run the gamut from drama to comedy to claymation to sword and sorcery “in the style of Monty Python.” What ties them all together is their indie nature and their brevity: the longest films look to run about 90 minutes.
If you can’t attend every single day, check out the schedule to see which day’s offerings suit your taste best.
Plus, you can meet the filmmakers on opening night, May 14, 6:00pm – 7:00pm, at Laru/Café Cubano, 3413 Central Ave NE.
The Guild Cinema is located at 3405 Central Ave NE, Albuquerque.
