Free Saturday Night Movie Series

July 23, 2010 by Tania

Is anyone actually paying full price to watch movies this summer 2010 with all the free and cheap movie deals we’ve posted?

Here’s another one for free Saturday night movies at Christ The King Anglican Church, followed by dessert, beverages, and a discussion, if you want to stay on.

Or just go for the movies:

  • July 24:  In the Heat of the Night
  • August 7:  Babette’s Feast
  • August 21:  Tender Mercies
  • September 4:  Sullivan’s Travels

Movies start at 6:30 pm – just show up.

The movie evenings are entirely free (we’re told by the church that they don’t even request a donation) and if you want, you can stay on for dessert and coffee and tea after the movie, along with a discussion led by a movie industry pro. The discussion may include the moral of the movie, ethics, how the movie is made, and seeing as this is at a church, may naturally include some conversation on the film from a religious perspective.

If you don’t want to stay on for the talk, it’s fine to leave straight after the movie, no strings attached.

Christ The King Anglican Church is located at 5300 2nd Street NW.
