Free Auto Show with Free Refreshments June 19-20

This Father’s Day weekend auto show promises vintage cars, tractors, hot rods and motorbikes, and even a Batmobile…  admission is free and they’re throwing in gratis food and drink too!

Highlights of the fourth annual Sagebrush Auto Show, on June 19 and 20, 2010, include:

• 225+ classic cars, custom cars, hot rods, motorcycles, tractors and trucks, and apparently an appearance by a Batmobile.  (Holy Duke City, Batman! )

• The Old Car Cruise starts at 2 pm on Saturday June 19 from the J&R Vintage Auto Museum in Rio Rancho, arriving at the Sagebrush Community Church at about 3 pm

• An awards ceremony with prizes for winning wheels on Sunday June 20 at 2 pm

• Raffle to win a motorcycle or go-kart

• The Batmobile joins the party on Sunday

• All events are free, plus free food (hot dogs to go with the hot rods) and drink.

Golfernoggins Freebies for Fathers: June 2010

June Freebies for Dads include play free mini golf (saving $8) and free ice cream.

I do love mini golf. Which is just as well as I’m not terribly good at the full-sized version. Pottering around the Golfernoggins 18-hole miniature golf course is just about my level. And I still can’t make par.

Anyway, enough of my sporting woes. We’re here to talk about the DADS, as during the month of June 2010, fathers play free at Golfernoggins on Monday through Friday – saving $8 on the usual adult admission.

Dads also get free golf on Father’s Day itself, Sunday June 20, 2010, AND on Father’s Day they’re rewarded for their paternal efforts with a free scoop of ice cream.

Free Auto Show, Entertainment

Father’s Day must be primetime for classic car shows, because this is the second one we’ve heard of. We already told you about one in Ruidoso, and this one takes place right here in Albuquerque.

This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (June 19, 20, and 21, 2009), at various times, the Sagebrush Auto Show has a bunch of events for participants and spectators. If you’re interested in participating, note that you can register ($15 per vehicle) on the day of the event. Highlights for spectators include:

• Classic cars and motorcycles
• Free food
• Music
• Antique tractors

Participants get free admission to the J & R Vintage Auto Museum in Rio Rancho and can take part in a Rod Run from the museum to the auto show site on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, judging occurs and trophies are awarded.
