Comments Off on Over 50% off ABQ Trolley Tour for Locals
Think of the romantic possibilities: the famous Albuquerque sunset, an open-air trolley, a tour of ABQ’s most historic districts. It all adds up to love — at least, love for our city. And love of the trolley!
ABQ Trolley Co. introduces Fourth Friday Sunset Tours for Albuquerque locals. For just $10 (which is actually less than half price), you can enjoy a 90-minute guided tour of Old Town, Nob Hill, Route 66, and much more!
The first Fourth Friday tour launches this Friday, June 26 (2009), at 7:30pm. Get your tickets now, as this is sure to sell out!
Then, catch the trolley in Old Town at Plaza Don Luis (303 Romero St. NW). It’s that easy. And be sure to take pix and send them to us, along with a review of the tour!
Big thanks to Tanya for tipping us off to this great deal!
You know, as hard as we try to be everywhere and do everything around Albuquerque, we just can’t. That’s why we LOVE it when readers send great tips like this one.
Every Monday at the Cinemark Movies 8 and Cinemark Movies West, families of 3 or more enjoy 50¢ admission per person thanks to the “Reel Family Time” promotion! That’s a huge discount off regular theater prices!
Plus, they offer special discounts at the concession stand and also on games. You can enjoy an entire evening of entertainment for cheap!
These are second run movies, but who cares? You still get to see them on the big screen and enjoy the whole moviegoing experience.
If you love great music, laughter and supporting good causes, you can do all three this weekend at the Southwest FunnyFest’s “Comedy & Chords Weekend.” This event benefits New Mexico AIDS Services.
Scheduled for Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15, at the KiMo Theatre, the Comedy & Chords Weekend features musicians Catie Curtis, Natalia Zuckerman and Adrianne. Featured comedians include Dana Goldberg, Elvira Kurtz, Page Hurwitz and Jessica Kirson.
There are a couple of ways to save on tickets to this event:
- Save $10 when you buy a 2-day pass. This promotion was scheduled to end 2/15, but we got the scoop from Dana Goldberg that the 2-day discount will remain in effect until the day of the show. Single-day tickets run $30; the 2-day pass costs $50.
- Purchase tickets in person at the KiMo box office to save up to $11 in Ticketmaster convenience fees.
- Do both of the above to save up to $21 off tickets for the whole shebang.
The KiMo Theatre box office is located at 423 Central Ave. NW.
We’re not going to recite the whole list here, but we’re happy to offer you some highlights:
- Free fleece blanket night
- 50-cent hotdog night (Dude, we are so there!)
- Isotopes hat night
- Pennant day
- Beanie Bear day
- Baseball card night
- Mini-bat night
- Orbit bobblehead night
And that’s not even mentioning some fantastic entertainment promotions, including a pre-game concert by Beatlemania Again, the ever-popular Myron Noodleman, and scads of fireworks nights.
Of course, the ‘Topes themselves provide great entertainment value for the dollar, with Berm seating running just $6 per ticket (advance purchase) and Club Level tickets running $22 (advanced purchase.) You can save even more by purchasing season tickets. The ‘Topes offer a variety of “season” packages to suit any budget.
So, take yourself (and your kids) out to the ballgame this year and enjoy some Albuquerque Isotopes baseball. Cracker Jack optional.
Comments Off on $1 OFF ADMISSION OR BOGO TICKETS: ALBUQUERQUE HOME & LIFESTYLE SHOW
Even if the economy has you rethinking how much you’re going to invest in home improvement this year, it’s still fun to wander the AH&L Expo to see all the neat stuff you can get to spiff up your house. At past events, I’ve seen hand-hammered copper sinks, hand-carved entry doors and cool new home technology products.
This spring’s expo runs February 21 & 22 (Saturday and Sunday) at Expo New Mexico (formerly the State Fairgrounds). Besides wandering through the exhibits, you can attend a free, entertaining presentation by Joey Green, “America’s Mad Scientist of Home Improvement.” He can teach you how to fix a broken dishwasher with Kool-Aid, clean driveway oil spills with Coca-Cola and unclog a drain with Jell-O — among many other wacky things! Just RSVP online in advance.
Here are two deals to get you into the expo cheap:
- New Mexico Marketplace currently has a banner running at the top of their homepage with a “buy one get one free” coupon for admission. Print out the coupon and present it at the gate. (As with all deals, I have no idea how long this banner will be live.)
- Or, get $1 off admission by purchasing online.
Regular price admission for adults is $8 and for seniors age 65+/children age 8+ is $7.
WHEN: Saturday, February 21, 10:00am – 6:00pm; and Sunday, February 22, 10:00am – 5:00pm
WHERE: Expo New Mexico (formerly the State Fairgrounds)
NOTE: Parking fee may apply
