Free Latin Techno-Pop and Hip-Hop Dance Party
Get ready to bust a move at the baile! The National Hispanic Cultural Center hosts a FREE Latin techno and hip-hop dance party this Thursday, August 20 (2009), at 7:00pm. High energy? ¡Sí!
The evening begins with a mini dance lesson and demonstration by local instructors. Then, everybody dances! Besides the music and fun, there’s a cash bar and concessions. What a great way to kick of the weekend a little early!
The free dance takes place in Salón Ortega.
The NHCC is located downtown at 1701 4th St SW, Albuquerque.

If you’re looking for something fun to do that won’t break the bank this weekend, check out this fab event taking place at Angel Fire!
Every Friday night in July (2009), Angel Fire Resort offers “Movies Under the Stars“. You can enjoy recent movies on the golf course, plus food, drinks, prizes, and surprises! And it’s all FREE.
This Friday, July 10, you can see Iron Man, starring Robert Downey, Jr. We’re not usually too big on superhero movies, but we thought Iron Man absolutely rocked! Great entertainment!
Angel Fire provides the 50-foot inflatable movie screen, movie-style surround sound, pleasant turf to sit on, parking, and popcorn for free. You’re invited to bring your family, friends, lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets. Note that alcoholic beverages may not be brought into the venue (pursuant to NM state law), but refreshing brewskis will be available for purchase. Other concessions also will be available, including barbecue, snacks, soft drinks, and candy. It’ll be like the drive-in, only without the cars!
Angel Fire is only about a three-hour drive from Albuquerque, so you can simply duck out of work a little early on Friday afternoon and make it to the resort in plenty of time to catch the show, which begins at dark. Check out these lodging deals to complete your cheap getaway.
