The final ABQ Trolley Co $10 tour for the 2012 season is coming up, so if you haven’t taken the ride this summer, here’s how to save on this uniquely Albuquerque experience.

The discounted Albuquerque trolley tour is called the Ten Buck Tour, offering more than 50% off the usual adult ticket tour price of $25.   The $10 ticket includes tax, and the narrated tour includes fun Albuquerque trivia and prizes from local businesses.

The final one this year is on Saturday September 22, 2012, at 3:30 pm, and tickets go on sale on Monday September 10 at 10 am. These discounted $10 tours sell out fast so buy Ten Buck Tour tickets online in advance. Tell them that you heard about it at ABQ on the Cheap!

They say the tour is geared towards Duke City residents, but visitors are welcome too – in fact, I reckon it could be even more fun for visitors to hang out with locals on the trip! The customized open-air trolley leaves from Old Town and takes you through Downtown, along Route 66 through Nob Hill, and around Barelas, Tingley Beach and more.

ALBUQUERQUE TROLLEY BREAKING BAD TOUR

The new ABQ Trolley Co. Breaking Bad tour has received a lot of media attention. I’ve been reading about the ‘BaD Tour’ everywhere – a three hour, narrated tour of Breaking Bad locations.  If you’ve heard the BaD buzz too, then tickets go on sale on Monday September 10 at 10 am for the final tour dates of the season:

  • Sunday September 30 at 3:30 pm
  • Tuesday October 9 at 3 pm

These aren’t On the Cheap ticket prices. The tours cost $60 per person, although Breaking Bad fans might consider that a deal for a Breaking Bad fest, touring Walter White and Jesse Pinkman’s Albuquerque (the exteriors only) and including trivia and prizes from Albuquerque businesses.  The BaD tours sell out quickly, but you’d better NOT call Saul! Get tickets online to the Breaking Bad trolley tour.

Comments Off on Four Movie Tickets = $24

For $24 get 4 movie tickets worth up to $12 each, in a deal today only. That’s $6 per ticket for Regal and United Artist cinemas.  It could make a good gift, too!

Get the deal via Half Off Depot, available only today, Friday April 27, or until the offer runs out – sometimes these movie ticket deals have a cap on the quantities available.  Once you’ve got the tickets they don’t expire, and can be redeemed at any Regal, United Artist, or Edwards theater nationally. In Albuquerque, the Regal/UA cinemas are:

  • UA Cottonwood
  • UA Winrock
  • UA High Ridge
  • UA Four Hills
  • There are also two locations in Santa Fe.

The four tickets are good for the movie of your choice up to a value of $12 each. The offer excludes 3-D and IMAX movies, and the first 12 days of “selected” new release films, although in that case, you can pay a $1.50 upgrade fee at the box office.

Check all the $24 for four movie tickets promo fine print to make sure it’s a good deal for you, but the main details are:

  • Purchase today, April 27, 2012, or as long as supplies last.
  • They’ll send an email with a code, and you enter that code at the deal redemption website within 30 days, confirming your shipping address.
  • Tickets are mailed to that address in 7-10 days.
  • Once you’ve received them, the tickets do not expire. Use them yourself or give them as gifts.

With all the summer blockbuster movies heading our way, let’s hope this helps save a little on movie tickets… to spend on popcorn instead!

Pay What You Will for David Mamet Play at The Vortex

Comments Off on Pay What You Will for David Mamet Play at The Vortex

A Pay What You Will show at The Vortex Theatre for their new production of Speed-the-Plow. I suspect we’ll all be speeding over, seeing as we can name our own price…

The Vortex Theatre production of Speed-the-Plow by David Mamet, directed by Harry Zimmerman, opens this Friday April 27, running until May 20, 2012.  Regular priced tickets are an already very reasonable $15, but the performance on Sunday April 29 at 2 pm is a pay what you will show, meaning you can pay any amount you like for your tickets when you arrive at the theatre.

You should still make a reservation at the Vortex Theatre website to make sure they keep seats for you, although they don’t take any payment online. (Because you just pay what you choose when you get there on the day!) Note that seats must be claimed by 10 minutes before curtain time, or they might give them to someone else.

Speed-the-Plow is a play about movie executives and the promo description asks: “Can there be a Hollywood happy ending to this triangle of loyalty and love?”  I love the award-winning writer David Mamet for his absolute mastery of dialogue, and he’s known for plays including Oleanna, Glengarry Glen Ross, and American Buffalo, the screenplays The Verdict, The Untouchables, and Wag the Dog, and in his spare time 😉 he writes novels.  This is not a play for the kids or the sensitive – it contains strong language and mature themes.

The Vortex Theatre is located near UNM at 2004 1/2 Central Avenue SE.

Comments Off on Megadeth Motorhead Gigantour Tickets Half Off

Get discount tickets today for Gigantour  in Albuquerque featuring Megadeth and Motörhead on February 26, 2012. There’s only a limited quantity of deal tickets available, so don’t thrash around if you’re interested.

Gigantour comes to Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque on Sunday February 26, 2012, with heavy metal bands Megadeth, Motörhead, Volbeat, and Lacuna Coil.

If you act fast, you can get up to 50% off tickets for Gigantour, at $27 for general admission seating in the stands, worth up to $54 including ticketing fees.

Each person can buy up to 4 tickets in today’s deal via GrouponLive, then redeem the certificates on the show date at the box office. On purchase, you need to give a name for whoever will redeem the tickets at the show, and that person must show valid ID at the box office. (So nobody else can steal your seats – LOL!) So if you’re buying 4 tickets to give as a gift to your metal-head cousins but you’re not going yourself, make sure you put a cousin’s name when you fill in the box for who will redeem the tickets at the box office. It’s all very clear on the purchase form.

This is a limited time Gigantour concert tickets deal, with a limited quantity available, and the concert is at 6:30 pm on Sunday February 26, 2012, at Tingley Coliseum.

Comments Off on Exclusive! Discount Tickets to Jungle Jack Hanna at Popejoy

Popejoy Hall has gone wild with another exclusive discount for ABQ on the Cheap readers! See Jungle Jack Hanna and his furry friends for $25 (usual ticket price up to $39) at the 7:30 pm performance on Sunday February 21.

Animal expert Jack Hanna is famous for his TV show Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventures, plus numerous appearances on the Late Show with David Letterman, Good Morning America, and Larry King Live. The live Jungle Jack Hanna show at Popejoy Hall stars Jungle Jack and his animal pals, plus fun stories and footage from Jack’s international wildlife adventures. Take yourself, take the kids, and just be prepared to explain afterwards exactly why your little darlings can’t have a koala bear as a pet. (Blame the altitude. And koalas don’t like green chile.)

Regular tickets are priced $39, $33 and $26, but ABQ on the Cheap readers can buy tickets from ANY price range for just $25, as long as seats remain.  TIP: If you let the booking program pick your seats, it suggests the best available (highest price) seats first, so you’ll save the most.

This offer is only valid for the performance at 7.30 pm on Sunday, February 21st, 2010.

To book your $25 ticket:

– You must use this special offer ticket link.
– Enter User Name: jungle
– Enter Password: animals
– Choose your seats. (Regular prices are displayed here – discounted price shows up *after* you’ve selected seats and continued to your basket.)
A ticket office booking fee will also be applied at checkout.

You can’t apply this deal to previously purchased tickets – sorry!

*NOTE* You can also use the Jungle Jack show ticket as a buy-one-get-one-free admission coupon to ABQ BioPark. Each ticket gets you one coupon. Use it through March 21.

Popejoy Hall is on the UNM campus. A park-n-ride service runs from the “G” parking lot north of the main campus. Look for signs directing you to turn east off University just north of Lomas.

Cheap Tickets to Cirque Dreams at Popejoy

October 1, 2009 by
Filed under Arts, Events, Half Off Deals, Kids, Live Performances

Via TravelZoo and our friend Michelle:

“Illumination,” the new Cirque Dreams show, opens at Popejoy Hall in October, and prices have been cut by up to 45% for performances on Friday, October 16 (2009) at 8:00pm, and Sunday, October 18, at 7:30pm. That means you can score a ticket for as little as $17.50! Available ticket levels are:

  • Rear Balcony $17.50 (regularly $32.50)
  • Mezzanine $37.50 (regularly $45)
  • Orchestra $37.50 (regularly $52.50)

Like any cirque-style show, “Illumination” features acrobatics, aerial stunts, contortionists, dance elements, comedy, and much more. This show should be very family-friendly. (Ed. note: our eight year-old granddaughter was mesmerized by Cirque le Masque earlier this spring.)

To book your seats, use this Popejoy Hall ticketing portal. Enter user name “travel” and password “dream” to access the special pricing. Note that a service fee of $4.50 to $5.50 per ticket will be added (applies to regular price tickets, too).

Popejoy Hall is located on the University of New Mexico campus. Limited parking is available in the adjacent parking structure, mainly for patrons with handicapped parking placards. For others, your best bet is to use the park-n-ride service from the “G” parking lot north of the main campus, off University Blvd just north of Lomas.
