Hyatt Regency Tamaya Stay Three Nights Get One Free

July 20, 2010 by Tania

Tamaya Resort and Spa gives you the fourth night free, plus free breakfast, and other deals into the bargain, for stays through October 10, 2010.

I love this place – great location, comfy rooms, good service, that round Kiva-shaped pool is bliss, and the mountain views from the Rio Grande Lounge bar over a sunset cocktail (or several) are hard to beat.

If you’re visiting Albuquerque, or you live locally and have friends visiting (or if you just want that staycation we’re always on about), check out the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Three for Free offer.  In a nutshell:

  • Stay three nights and get the fourth night free
  • Get a free room upgrade
  • Free daily breakfast for two (that saves you a bit too! Unless you want to leap out of bed and drive out of the resort into nearby Bernalillo or Rio Rancho, you really do want breakfast at the resort for maximum relaxoliciousness)
  • Plus you get 25% off spa services (it’s a super spa – and any excuse, say I. A discount of 25% is quite a good excuse)

The Hyatt Regency Tamaya Fourth Night free offer is available till October 10, 2010.

Reservations must be made in advance, and the deal can’t be combined with other offers.  Some blackout dates may apply.

Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa is located on Santa Ana Pueblo lands, at 1300 Tuyuna Trail.

50% off Ant Control to August 15, 2010

July 20, 2010 by Tania
Filed under Half Off Deals, Services

Pirate Pest Control

Got pesky pests? Get a half price deal on ant control till August 15 – the service is child and pet-friendly.

Personally I think ants are admirable creatures. They’re smart, selfless, and they work together to achieve the best for their ant community.  Humans could probably learn a lot from them. Then again, I don’t want ants invading my home, garden, and especially my kitchen, or biting me when I’m busy rhapsodizing about how intelligent ants are.

If you’re adam-ant about getting rid on a summer ant invasion, Pirate Pest Control & Termite just sent us this half price offer to save bucks while banishing bugs.

Their Ant Tactical Service is discounted from $150 to $75 until August 15, 2010.

The service includes:

  • A full inspection
  • Identification of ant activity and conditions creating the problem
  • Application of baits and control materials (kid and pet friendly)
  • Removal of up to one bag of leaves, litter and debris
  • Written recommendations and follow up service as needed
  • 30 day warranty

Pirate Pest Control & Termite is insured and licensed by the New Mexico Department of Agriculture and they’re offering this service to customers in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Corrales, Bernalillo and Placitas.

We don’t have a web link for the half price offer – they just wrote and told us about it. Contact them on (505) 514-7694.

Coronado State Monument Free Admission Days for NM Residents & Free Talks for All

June 4, 2010 by Tania

Coronado State Monument’s ceremonial Painted Kiva opens again to the public on Sunday June 6, 2010 after three years of closure due to structural problems, and New Mexico residents get free admission to see it on opening day and every Sunday!

To visit the renovated Painted Kiva and the murals (you climb down the wooden ladder into the kiva to see them) the regular adult admission to Coronado State Monument is $3, which is a good deal in itself, and admission is always free for children aged 16 and under.

But the good news is that New Mexico residents get free admission to the monument on Sundays – just bring your ID.

New Mexico Seniors with ID can also visit for free on Wednesdays.

If you’re not a resident, or if you want to visit on a different day, it’s worth noting that a $5 combo ticket gives admission to both Coronado and Jémez State Monument. (Jémez State Monument, 43 miles north of Bernalillo, has the same free admission policies for kids, NM residents on Sunday, and NM seniors on Wednesday.)

Free Twilight Talks on the Portal are free for all in 2010, with no monument admission required.

This new series includes light refreshments, but there are limited spaces available and you must reserve in advance – see the details at each link. Each talk is from 7 to 8 pm.

Saturday June 12: Twilight Talk on the Portal: Navajo Long Walk 1862-1868
Saturday July 10: Twilight Talk on the Portal: Billy the Kid and the Lincoln County War
Saturday August 14: Twilight Talk on the Portal: El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro

Coronado State Monument is just off I-25, at exit 242, in Bernalillo.

If you love Day of the Dead art, this is the expo for you.

If you love Day of the Dead art, this is the expo for you.

Why celebrate Día de los Muertos only once a year when you can celebrate it all year long? That’s the philosophy behind the Arté de Muertos Expo, held three times a year.

If you’re a Day of the Dead aficionado, check out the expo this Saturday and Sunday, November 7 and 8 (2009), from 9:00am – 5:00pm both days. Admission and parking are FREE!

The expo features all manner of Day of the Dead folk and fine art, but they have a bunch of other stuff, too, like shadow boxes, jewelry, wood carvings, ceramics, and wind chimes. Most of the art is exhibited by the maker, so you can chat directly with the artists as you browse. Also on hand will be paranormal metaphysical experts willing to share their knowledge. Artist demonstrations, live music, and a book signing by Antonio Garcez round out the event.

The Arté de Muertos Expo will be held at Santa Ana Star Casino, Santa Ana Pueblo, NM. Take I-25 north to US 550 and head west. You’ll see it. More info: (505) 771-3307.
