If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to ABQ on the Cheap's RSS feed or email digests. Thanks for visiting!

Buy today only to get two box seat tickets for $15 (normal value $40) for ABQ Thunderbird games against  L.A. D-Fenders, Erie BayHawks, or Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Deal expires today.

This Groupon deal is for the games:

Albuquerque Thunderbirds vs. Erie BayHawks on Friday, March 12, at 7 p.m.

Buy two box seat tickets for $15 (regular value $40) via Groupon before the deal expires at midnight today, March 3, 2010. Tickets include all box-office and arena fees and there is no purchase limit.
The way Groupon works – a set number of people have to opt in to the deal before it is confirmed. In this case, 10 T-bird fans need to snap it up today. If enough people don’t buy, the deal is cancelled, and you don’t pay a cent.

FYI–I’ve linked you to the Groupon kick-back page. Translation: If you buy a Groupon within 72 hours of clicking on the link, and it’s the first time you’ve bought a Groupon, I’ll receive a small credit toward a future Groupon.  I tell you this because a) This site’s  rules require it. and  b) The FTC requires it.

If you’re going to buy your first Groupon ever & feel like sending a little love this way, use the link. Otherwise, just go to Groupon.com. Thanks!

Here at Cheap Central, we love our local sports teams. And we’re psyched to tell you about this great holiday event!

On Wednesday, November 25 (2009) — that’s the day before Thanksgiving — you can enjoy a great NBA D-league matchup between our hometown T-Birds and the Los Angeles D-Fenders. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00pm. Get FREE admission simply by donating a non-perishable food item! Or, pay $4 general admission at the gate.

All food items and half the gate proceeds will be donated to the Roadrunner Food Bank. How awesome is that?!

The L.A. D-Fenders are the Developmental League affiliates of the reigning NBA Champions, the Los Angeles Lakers. You truly get to see tomorrow’s NBA stars today at these D-league games. Plus, you can get tickets for as little as $4 a game. How cheap is that?! Season tickets and mini-plans are available, too. The regular season begins Friday, November 27th.

So, get out there and support our pro basketball team! And feel good knowing you’re supporting a great local charity, too.

The Albuquerque Thunderbirds play at Tingley Coliseum, located at EXPO New Mexico. Expect to pay a $4 parking fee.

We love to shoot hoops. Sadly, we’re just a tad bit too old to participate in this free basketball camp.

But if you know a kid age 5-14, check this out!

The Albuquerque Thunderbirds, in conjuction with the Horn Family YMCA, will hold a free basketball clinic on Saturday, August 22 (2009), from 10:00 – 11:30am. But ya gotta pre-register before Thursday, August 20, by calling the Y at 265-6971. The good news? The first 75 participants to sign up will receive a free drawstring backpack and water bottle!

Thunderbirds head coach John Coffino will lead the kids through drills during the 90 minute session.

The Horn Family YMCA is located at 4901 Indian School Rd NE, Albuquerque.

NOTE: Since we originally published this, the deal has been flagged “Not available for web sales.” Hmmm. We’ll investigate this and get back to you!
