Hey, friends, watch us tonight (Thursday, April 2) on KOAT Action 7 News at 5:00pm! We’re being featured on Melissa Mahan’s “Project Economy on the Cheap” segment.

We’re also going to be on KRQE in about 4 weeks, doing a segment on how to find deals on your own. It’s simple, really: invest 10-20 hours per week scouring websites and… oh, we probably shouldn’t give our secrets away. Kim Vallez would be very angry. And we don’t want to make Kim angry. We’ll let you know when the segment is airing!

Also, pleaseĀ  come out to Albuquerque Women In Business‘s April luncheon, where Beth will be speaking on the subject of social media and hyperlocal blogging. She’s going to share her meager wisdom regarding how to promote your business/image/cause/what-have-you by “thinking local” and using social media tools like Twitter. The luncheon will be held Tuesday, April 7, at noon at a location we can’t disclose because you have to RSVP first by joining the AWIB Meetup group, which is free and carries no further obligation. Spaces for this talk are limited, so sign up today!

And speaking of Twitter, if you’re not following us yet, you should be. We’re getting some fantastic family four-packs of passes to an upcoming local event, and we’re going to be giving some of them away exclusively on Twitter! So git yerself on over there and give us a foller.

Lastly, we do have some site improvements in the works. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be adding a calendar to make it easier to retrieve deals tied to a specific date. And we plan to add a listing of stuff that’s always free, like free museum admission days. What else would you like to see? What types of deals do you want to see more (or less) of? How can we make ABQ on the Cheap better for you? Email us your suggestions, or just add a comment.

PS – Businesses: we need your deals! Why not offer an exclusive discount to our readers? Advertising is also available. Give us a shout.

OK, that’s it. We now return you to your regularly scheduled deals. Thanks for reading!

–Elizabeth Hanes
