Here at Cheap Central, we’re big lovers of Japanese art and culture. So, we were excited to read about this fabulous event.

On Sunday, May 17, enjoy all things Asian at the 2009 Festival of Asian Cultures at Civic Plaza from 10:30am – 4:00pm. Sponsored by the Asian American Association of New Mexico, the festival showcases music, dance, food, and culture from Asian and Pacific countries, including Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Phillipines, and Vietnam.

You can spend the day watching performances, enjoying music, sampling Asian food, and patronizing vendors. Sounds like a lot of fun! Don’t forget sunscreen.

This FREE event is held at Harry E. Kinney Civic Plaza, downtown at 1 Civic Plaza.

Parking will cost you, unless you want to walk a couple of blocks. If you don’t mind the stroll, park for FREE at the Wells Fargo Bank parking lot just north of Roma on Third Street NW, or directly across the street you can also park for free in the Laz Parking (Bank of America) surface lot only (not in the parking garage itself).
