Turn up for free CPR lessons on June 22, 2013, as part of Project Heart Start Day and Health Fair.

I wish we didn’t have to post this ‘deal’, it’s not exactly a fun subject. But if it helps somebody help somebody down the line, it’s worth it.  Apparently, when victims of cardiac arrest can be resuscitated right away through CPR, they often survive with little or no damage to their heart or brain.

You can get free CPR lessons to learn the lifesaving technique of compression-only CPR, or cardiopulmonary resuscitation, on Saturday June 22, at the University of New Mexico’s Johnson Center in the South Gym.

There are three free CPR lessons on June 22, at these times : 8 am, 9 am, and 10 am.

The classes last for 40 minutes each. The Johnson Center is located on UNM’s main campus on Central Avenue, corner of Stanford Drive.

Live in Rio Rancho? Project Heart Start New Mexico is also offering the same free CPR lessons in Rio Rancho on June 22 at the same times (8 am, 9 am, 10 am) at the Meadowlark Senior Center, 4300 Meadowlark Lane SE.

Thanks to reader Kelley for giving us the heads-up (or hearts-up?) on this one!
