Living in a desert, we all know we need to conserve water. And with the economy sagging, we all have added incentive to save our hard-earned cash by reducing our water bill.

The 2009 Water Conservation & Xeriscape Expo will help you do just that. And it’s all free. I mean all!

Let’s start with the admission: FREE. And the multitude of seminars? FREE.

OK, there is a $4 parking fee, but let’s not quibble.

The expo will feature over 250 exhibitors, showing off cool stuff like vintage gardening equipment, garden art, hardscape elements, xeriscape technology, locally grown foods and much more. For the kids, Hawks Aloft will be on hand, along with Talking Talons, Wildlife Rescue Inc. of New Mexico, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Trailer Exhibit.

But it doesn’t end with the exhibitors. No, your free admission gets you access to over 20 free seminars, including:

  • Creating a Water Conserving Garden from the Soil Up
  • Waterwise Wildlife Gardening, Attraction and Mischief Management
  • Native Plants: A Fusion of Artistry and Ecology
  • Safe, Legal, Inexpensive and Effective Greywater Harvesting
  • Hummingbirds in the Xeriscape Garden
  • Impressionist Techniques for Southwest Gardens
  • Organic Gardening

And many others!

Dude, I am totally there. I hope you will be, too!
