The Open Space Visitor Center is hosting a bunch of activities on Saturday and Sunday, April 18 and 19, to celebrate Earth Day 2009. (Ed. note: who else reading this remembers celebrating the FIRST Earth Day? Use the comments feature to tell us something you did that day! We’ll start: our 5th grade class picked up litter along main street.)

Among the things to do:

  • Recycled art fair
  • Children’s beginning birding
  • Flintknapping workshop
  • Yoga for the Earth
  • Backyard Composting Made Easy

All of the events/activities are free, but some require registration by calling 897-8831. The festivities run from 10:00am – 5:00pm both days.

The Open Space Visitor Center is located at 6500 Coors Blvd NW, Albuquerque.
