National Park Week Free Admission: April 21 – 29

During National Park Week 2012 you can enter every one of the country’s 397 national parks for free – and we’ve got plenty to choose from in New Mexico!

If you missed our earlier post, here’s a reminder that during Free National Park Week  from April 21 to 29, 2012,  more than 100 national parks that usually charge for entry waive the admission fee and you can explore without paying a cent. It’s a good excuse to plan a day trip to visit a park you don’t know yet, or return to an old favorite.

If you’re traveling beyond New Mexico, National Park Travel Deals include accommodation offers at Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park to buy two nights and get one night free between May 18 and October 13, 2012 at the Togwotee Mountain Lodge in Moran, Wyoming.

Heading up to Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado? Get 50% off a tour ticket when you buy a tour ticket between April 21 – 29, either on the 4 hour or 3.5 hour tour, and get a free dessert when you buy one dessert at Mesa Verde’s Metate Room restaurant. (Hey, the price of gas these days, every free dessert on a trip helps, right?)

At Grand Canyon National Park during 2012 fee-free days, you can get a BOGO free deal on narrated West Rim Sunset Tours, and 20% off $50 purchases at Xanterra gift shops, using these printable Grand Canyon coupons. The coupons are also valid on June 9, September 29, and November 10-12.

The New Mexico National Parks with free admission from April 21-29 include:

Albuquerque’s own Petroglyph National Monument is always free to enter (with a nominal parking fee at Boca Negra Canyon). Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument is always free too.
