The Mother Load Sale on April 14 – 15 promises bargains in quality children’s clothes, toys, nursery items, and maternity wear.

When we were kids, we wore plenty of hand-me-downs from older siblings, cousins, or neighbors. With today’s smaller families, kids may not have an older sibling to filch clothes from.

That’s the niche The Mother Load Sale aims to fill. In this large spring consignment sale you can shop a selection of gently-used items, such as maternity and children’s clothes, toys, books, furniture, strollers, car seats, and high chairs. This year they also have a ‘Man Cave’ for dads, selling sports, camping, fishing, and outdoor gear, and tools.

The Mother Load Sale for Spring 2012 takes place on Saturday April 14 to Sunday April 15
Admission is free for military and teachers during Saturday’s sale, and Sunday is free admission for all, although you might save more in the long run by paying to go earlier and get first grab at the best bargains.

  • Saturday PreSale: $10 on April 14, from 7:30 – 9 am
  • Saturday Sale: $1 adult admission on April 14 from 9 am – 1 pm, with free admission for military or for a military spouse and for teachers (Take your I.D.)
  • Sunday Sale: Free admission from 10 am to 2 pm, and this is Half Price Day with most items on sale at 50% off.

This is not a flea market, where you deal with individuals selling their stuff. Instead, individuals consign their goods. This sale offers clean baby and children’s clothing in excellent condition, along with clean toys, children’s books, VHS/DVD, CDs, puzzles, baby and children’s furniture, car seats, strollers, etc., and maternity clothing.

The Mother Load Sale is at Cleveland Middle School, 6910 Natalie Ave NE, and the organizers offer helpful tips on how to shop the consignment sale to get the best deals.
