A new summer program of Casa San Ysidro free admission days offers family fun and activities on the second Sunday of the month.

Casa San Ysidro in Corrales is part of the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History. Tours (usually only offered on specified dates/times) generally cost $4 for adults.

But with this new summer series of Casa San Ysidro free days on the second Sunday of June, July and August 2013, everyone gets free admission from 1 – 4 pm. That means you can tour the house and gardens, and enjoy the family-friendly program or presentation offered on each afternoon.

This Sunday June 9, 2013, from 1 – 4 pm, the Casa San Ysidro free program focuses on the life of the historic Spanish buffalo hunter, or cibolero. Check out traditional tools and a tanned buffalo hide, and see a Chautauqua or living history presentation at 2:30 pm.

The presenters are Manuel Lopez, playing a cibolero, and Larry Marken, portraying Old Bill Williams, a 19th century mountain man. Find out about their traditional clothing, equipment and life on the colonial frontier! Should be fun for kids, huh?

If you miss this Casa San Ysidro free event, the remaining second Sunday dates for 2013 are July 14 and August 11.

Casa San Ysidro The GutiƩrrez-Minge House is located at 973 Old Church Road, Corrales.
