This new summer program of Casa San Ysidro free admission days offers family fun and activities on the second Sunday of the month.

Casa San Ysidro in Corrales is part of the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History. Tours (usually only offered on specified dates/times) generally cost $4 for adults.

But with this new summer series of Casa San Ysidro free days on the second Sunday of July and August 2013, everyone gets free admission from 1 – 4 pm. That means you can tour the house and gardens, and enjoy the family-friendly program or presentation offered on each afternoon.

This Sunday July 14, 2013, from 1 – 4 pm, the Casa San Ysidro free program features the art of the blacksmith with Gary Williams, a blacksmith from Corrales. He’ll be demonstrating traditional metal working in the forge, to give an idea of the kinds of skills used to create the Spanish Colonial ironwork at Casa San Ysidro. He’ll also tell stories about blacksmiths in the past, and how they crafted all the essential items for people living on the frontier where iron was scarce, including agricultural tools and chains.

If you miss this Casa San Ysidro free event, the final second Sunday date for 2013 will be on August 11, so you can pop that on your calendar instead.

Casa San Ysidro The GutiƩrrez-Minge House is located at 973 Old Church Road, Corrales.
