We are unabashed fans of Local iQ. And we’re even bigger fans now that they published their annual happy hour issue! We want to encourage you to pick up Local iQ at any of over 400 locations in ABQ and Santa Fe. Better yet, subscribe. Best: follow them @iQlocal on Twitter.

At this time of year, we love patios. So, here are a few happy hour options where you can sip al fresco.

  • Billy’s Long Bar: happy hour all day, specials that change daily; northeast heights at 4800 San Mateo NE
  • Blackbird Buvette: 5:00 – 8:00pm and 11:00pm to close, various food and drink specials, patios front and back; downtown at 509 Central NW
  • Coaches Sports Grill: 4:30 – 7:00pm, food and drink specials change daily; UNM area at 1414 Central SE
  • Elephant Bar Restaurant: 3:00 – 6:00pm Monday through Friday, half off various drinks and appetizers; uptown at 2240 Louisiana NE (full disclosure: you will find us all to frequently sipping mojitos on the Elephant Bar patio while watching the pageantry of people going by)

  • Louie’s Pub and Grill: 4:00 – 8:00pm, various daily food and drink specials, plus theme night every Friday; uptown at 5603 Menaul NE

Rallys on 4th near Central and also the BISTRO in Ramada in on Carlisle and I-40 have free appetizers every day at 5 pm. Rallys usually has a taco bar and BISTRO had enchiladas on Thursdays and Taco bar on Friday. Those enchiladas were so goooood. Albuquerque Grill on Rio Grande and I-40 had a huge set up in the lounge area last time we went. We spent $25 on dinner (with a BOGO) when we saw it going towards the bathroom so GRRR.
