The Fiery Foods & Barbecue Show returns to the Sandia Resort and Casino Events Center from March 4 – 6, 2011, with over 200 exhibitors and plenty of opportunities to sample salsas, savories, and sweets with heat!

We know how much you love your fiery foods, but don’t be a hot head, check out the best way to buy your tickets to the big event, produced by Albuquerque’s own chilehead Dave DeWitt.

The 23rd Fiery Foods & Barbecue Show tickets cost:

  • $15 for adults and $5 for children up to age to 18 if you wait to buy tickets at the door.
  • $10 for adults and still $5 for children if you purchase tickets in advance.

That makes it sounds like the advance purchase is the better deal, but as purchasing online in advance via Ticketmaster adds a $3.25 “convenience charge” per ticket, you actually only save $1.75 on each adult ticket, and the kids’ admission is $3.25 more expensive than waiting till the day of the show. Plus you’ll pay a fee for ticket delivery which varies according to the method you choose, starting at $2.50. If the convenience of buying online in advance works for you, that’s all well and good.

But the ***magic*** solution to get the best of both worlds? The event publicist tells us you can also trundle along to the Sandia Resort & Casino Ticketmaster booth ahead of the show to buy advance tickets with no online fee.

Sounds like a no-brainer to me, or just wait and buy your tickets on the door on the day. Admission for the fiery foods extravaganza is hot-and-heavy-breathing good value, even if you don’t snag the advance discount!

General public admission times for the 2011 Fiery Foods & Barbecue Show are:

  • Friday March 4  from 4 to 7 pm
  • Saturday March 5  from 11 am to 7 pm
  • Sunday March 6  from 11 am to 6 pm

It’s free to park at Sandia Resort and Casino, located at 30 Rainbow Road NE, just east of I-25 at the Tramway Exit 234. The resort is huge and kinda hard to miss, but if you’re an Albuquerque visitor, here’s a map to Sandia Resort & Casino.
