Valentine Sweetheart Space Mission

An out-of-this-world date for Valentine’s Day on February 14, 2013.  Venus, the goddess of love, would approve…

The Challenger Learning Center New Mexico Sweetheart Mission takes off on Thursday February 14 at
6:30 pm. This Valentine’s Day simulated space shuttle mission is for adults only (as you might have guessed) and it’s designed for couples to enjoy the most romantic day of the year in cosmic style.

The cost is $40 per couple, including drinks and snacks between your comet-chasing. That sounds like a good deal for a unique experience on a day where it’s hard to find a new way to put the lurve-stars in your eyes.

I don’t have exact details on what will happen during this mission, but on previous occasions, the participant ‘crews’ climb aboard the $2 million space simulator, with its mission control room and orbiting space station. After a briefing by flight directors on the mission, crews are in charge of finding and probing a comet, with tasks to achieve mission goals. No doubt they’ll throw in a few emergency alarms along the way as an excuse to snuggle up to your date,  but if you want to know exactly what will happen, contact the event organizers on (505) 938-7732.

Make reservations in advance as spaces are limited and usually fill fast.
