They’re time-traveling in the June Margarita and A Movie night. Enjoy cocktail hour, hors d’oeuvres, and a mingle in the NM Museum of Natural History and Science, before watching a movie.

The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science series of  Margarita and a Movie night continues with a screening of Back to the Future on Thursday June 14. The gathering starts at 6 pm.

Back to the Future stars Michael J. Fox as the teenager who is accidentally sent back to 1955 in a time machine. Sometimes I wouldn’t mind being sent back to 1955, when life seemed simpler, you hung out with actual people rather than spending half the day in Cyberspace, and it was frowned on if you displayed your underwear above your jeans’ waistband. (Hipband? Groinband?)  Then again, I wasn’t born in 1955, in fact my mother was only a child, so what do I know?

The evening includes a cocktail or other beverage, hors d’oeuvres from The Cooperage or Scarpas Brick Oven Pizza, time to check out the museum during cocktail hour, then down to the DynaTheater to watch the movie on the huge screen.

The Margarita and A Movie evening costs $25 per person. It’s not exactly bargain basement cheap, but it’s pretty good value in my opinion for a movie, cocktail and appetizers in such a great setting.

Margarita and A Movie tickets are available online in advance and seats are limited – they’ve sold out on at least one of the previous events, so it’s probably best to book soon.  There is a $1.87 per ticket service charge.  You can also purchase tickets in advance at the museum to save online charges, and they usually sell tickets on the door on the day if any remain by then.
