Hear Mexican flautist Horacio Franco free in concert this Tuesday December 4, 2012.

Virtuoso flautist Horacio Franco is one of Mexico’s most successful classical musicians, performing with leading international orchestras and at venues all over the world from Carnegie Hall to the Berliner Philharmonic Hall and Tzavta Hall in Tel Aviv. (Bet he notches up the Frequent Flyer miles.)

He’s apparently performed for the late Queen Mother of England, so you’ll be in good company if you go to his free concert this week, presented by The Mexican Consulate in Albuquerque at the National Hispanic Cultural Center. The Horacio Franco free concert is on Tuesday December 4 at 7:30 pm in the Bank of America Theatre, and tickets are available from the box office one hour before the recital.

Apparently Franco likes to make his music eclectic and accessible to all ages and music-lovers, so he’ll be performing Bach, traditional Mexican music, and works by contemporary composers too.

  • When: Tuesday December 4, 2012
  • Time: 7:30 pm with tickets available from 6:30 pm
  • Where: Bank of America Theatre at the National Hispanic Cultural Center
  • Admission: Free

The National Hispanic Cultural Center is located at 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque.
