The movie 3:10 to Yuma is the next in a series of free screenings at the KiMo Theatre, as part of the New Mexico Centennial Film Series.

The KiMo Theatre’s monthly film series puts the spotlight on movies featuring New Mexico, as we would expect in New Mexico centennial year. We are such a star-struck, star-spangled state, in every sense of the words.

3:10 to Yuma is the free movie at the KiMo on Wednesday November 28 at 7 pm.  The 1997 action film was based on a short story by Elmore Leonard, and follows the drama between outlaw Ben Wade, played by Russell Crowe, and rancher Dan Evans, played by Christian Bale.

The movie won a Western Heritage Awards Bronze Wrangler for an outstanding theatrical motion picture, and a whole slew of the cast, including the two leads, plus Peter Fonda, Gretchen Mol, and Ben Foster, received nominations for Screen Actors Guild Awards.

3:10 to Yuma is rated R and was filmed in New Mexico locations including Santa Fe, Diablo Canyon, Ghost Ranch at Abiquiu, and Galisteo. Doors open at 6:30 for the 7 pm start on  November 28, and admission is free.  Take real cash for the Kimo Theatre concessions.

The KiMo Theatre is located at 423 Central Avenue NW.
