As You Like It in the Park
The South Broadway Cultural Center and The Vortex Theatre present an outdoor performance of Shakespeare’s comedy: As You Like It.
And I do like it! As You Like It is one of my favorite comedies by old Will Shakespeare, and you can see a live performance outdoors on July 28 and August 4 at 7:30 pm, with the South Broadway Park doing its best to act the part of the Forest of Arden.
Admission to The South Broadway Cultural Center As You Like It production is a suggested $5, and you can take your blankets and picnics (not alcohol or glass containers though).
The collaboration between the South Broadway Cultural Center and The Vortex Theatre is part of the Youth Summer Shakespeare Intensive, with teens trained to perform the play. I used to be able to recite the most famous passage from As You Like It in full, but now I can only remember:
“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages….”
I must be in the ancient age when your memory evaporates. I guess if you go along you can hear the rest of it.
As You Like It will be performed on two dates:
Time: 7:30 pm
Where: South Broadway Park by the South Broadway Cultural Center, 1025 Broadway Boulevard SE
Price: Tickets are a suggested $5
